1). Do you plan to support systems of two simple webcameras (instead
of one expensive 3d webcamera)?
We don't have such a plan and I don't think we will for several reasons:
1. The price of one 3d webcam will actually be competitive with a single "2D" webcam. May be not as low as the low cost webcams but still, less than the price of 2.
2. Doing stereography is actually rather pricey computing wise and requires careful calibration of the camera locations. There are several compact solutions for this with usually a dedicated chip to extract the 3D map from the input image pair in real time. You mentioned Spiral Scratch that we didn't know but there's also TYZX (http://www.tyzx.com/) for instance. As far as I know, those cameras are more expensive than the 3DV Systems one.
That being said, our code does not depend on the technology of the camera so, if TYZX or Spiral Scratch were to provide cheap devices and an SDK that give us access to the 3D map, we could easily use that in our code.
2). Standing (especially when more than three hours successively) is
tiring do you have a sitting version?
Yeap, we are working on this. I mentioned why I use a standing pose in a blog post:
